maternity = maxis (and a date night)

dress: old navy // neon belt: target // cute little punk: all mine
jacket: levis // crocheted cowl: gift // black tank: old navy // striped maxi: fred meyer

I've been living in maxi skirts for the last couple of weeks. You look pulled together, and you feel like you're wearing pajamas.
It's a win/win if you ask me.
Nick and I had a date night the other night... granted, it was at the school auction.
But somebody else made dinner, there were no children present, I was wearing real clothes, and I didn't do any dishes.
Perfect date night to me.

The striped maxi I sport nearly every day is seriously the comfiest thing I've ever owned.
If you don't have Fred Meyer, you won't understand how surprised I was to find it there.
It's basically a giant grocery store that also sells clothes, toys and recliners.
I love it so completely that I actually attempted to make another skirt using it as my guide.
And I gotta say, I'm pretty proud of the finished product... it won't win any sewing awards, but it'll make it through the summer.
Maybe I'll show it off next week. I've got another one in the works.

Maxi skirts are my new yoga pants, and I think the general public might be relieved.
And though he'd never say it, I know Nick is.

linking up with lindsey today!

  1. Dang, you are rocking that dress! I really love the concept of a maxi and will someday be convinced that I don't look ridiculous in it.

  3. I thought Fred Meyer had died a long, slow death! I guess it's still kicking. I should've worn more maxis than I did -- the world would've been a better place.

  10. Love the maxi trend right now... is it still socially acceptable to wear them every day if I'm not pregnant?! Maybe I'll alternate every other day with my yoga pants. ;)

  16. Ive discovered that comfy dresses with leggings are the "dress up" equivalent to sweat pants. It's what I wear to teach in every day!
