{thankful} a heart overwhelmed

The last five days were an amazing time of rest and refreshment.
Time with women I'd never met, who I now feel even more deeply
connected to. I have a love for them as my sisters that I can't even explain.
God knew I needed that time away, and overwhelmed me with such a sweetness
in each of them that wasn't unexpected, but was far more than I'd imagined.

On our last night together in Lake Placid, we gathered around in our yoga pants
and cozy blankets, settling in to hear about the journey each of us have been on.
We shared our stories from the very beginning, and how God had transformed
each of our lives.
To say it was a precious gift doesn't even begin to convey what that night was.

To me, it was yet another beautiful picture of what it means to be in His family.
Different stories, different experiences and ideas and theologies,
each with a heart filled with His love, able to embrace one another
and our varying paths, and to rejoice together in what a tremendous Love
the Father has poured into our hearts through hardships and trial,
through joy and triumph.

I am so thankful for these women. For the opportunity to share life together,
to learn and grow with one another and from one another.
For five sweet days of laughing and eating and crying.

This was an answer to prayer - for deep, real friendship,
for refreshment and rest,
for so many things that God knew my soul needed.

I am so so grateful.
