{thankful} for today

Lute was waiting by my bed this morning when I woke up.
"Is it Kid Day? Can we get started?"
We went downstairs so he could put our schedule together.
And we stuck to it, too.
We baked cupcakes, painted, played with playdoh,
decorated our cupcakes and then immediately ate them,
played restaurant (aka ate lunch), watched the Lorax while eating popcorn,
(there was a lot of eating)
made cookies, finger painted, played and met Nick for pizza.
I'd say they enjoyed themselves.

I love these guys. I love Kid Day.
I love feeling like I am constantly in the midst of a shaky sugar rush.
I loved tucking them in tonight and feeling content and satisfied that we loved on each other all day long.

I'm so thankful for each of them and for every fun memory we made today.

  2. I saw your photos on instagram throughout the day, and I was just in awe. So great that you do that with your kiddos; think I will have to start having those kind of days when my little ones are a little older. :)

  9. Sounds like you had a great day. I'll have to do that for Veteran's Day coming up since the 2nd grader has the day off and ya know, momma needs a day off to every once in a while.
