{thankful} it all started on twitter

I had really just started getting into blogging for real late last summer around the same time that everyone was talking about
Blog Sugar, a little conference in California.
Some of my favorite ladies were going and I thought it sounded like an amazing time.
I had high hopes to go this year, and then found out it was no more.
I started wishing and hoping for an opportunity to meet up with some of the women
I've met in this amazing little community that has brought me so much
encouragement, words of wisdom, laughter, and creative ideas.
So about six months ago, I half jokingly tweeted to some of these girls that I wanted to have
them over for a slumber party.
Well, leave it to Danielle to immediately email all of us and get the ball rolling for a
girls weekend - a mini retreat with no real agenda and absolutely no kids.
Time to laugh and pray and eat together. Oh man, are we gonna eat.

There are nine of us going, none of whom I've met in real life.
But they're already kindred spirits, so who cares if I've actually seen them face to face?
They do have some pretty cute faces though.
Today I am thankful for these girls and their encouragement, support, and sassy attitudes.
I am grateful for the daily texts I get from all of them that make me laugh. A lot.
And I am seriously beyond words thankful that in just two weeks (!!), I will be on a plane
to New York for five days of kid free girl time in a gorgeous, rustic setting.
There will be laughing and eating and wine and hiking and thrifting and so much sleeping.
Thank you, Lord.
