welcome home, george

We welcomed George Lawrence on November 15, 2009 at 3:29 am.  He was 8 pounds, 6 ounces and 20.75 inches.  Lute loves his new little brother (who he either refers to as "the new baby" or "Eddie", so we're working on that) and Eddie remains fairly clueless.

Adjusting to three boys under the age of 3 has been smooth so far.  But Nick is home from work and George sleeps about 23 hours a day, so we'll see how it goes.  God has been kind enough to ease us in to our new lifestyle...

an actual conversation

We have been working on potty training for a really long time.  Mostly because Lute was telling us what he was going on in his diaper since his first birthday, so we thought we'd start early. We have had some very successful days, weeks, months... and then there are moments of regression. Like this week, when he can't really be bothered to leave his trains or cars to head to the bathroom.

One such occasion occurred last night and here is the conversation that followed:

Me:  Lute, even if you're having fun playing, you need to tell me when you have to go. When did you poop in your pants? (thinking he'd tell me what he was doing at the time)

Him: Ummmmm, 6:30.

Two minutes later, as I am changing his diaper:

Him: Mama, tell me about the poop.

I won't go into that part of the conversation.  At least the process is entertaining.
