we're outta here!

Things are definitely winding down!  The baby is due on Monday and we got the go ahead today to buy our tickets.  No sign of labor yet, but if he isn't born on Monday, they will most likely induce on Tuesday morning.  We bought out tickets tonight and our heading east on Monday afternoon... We can't wait!

Plane tickets: check.
Rental car: check.
Hotel:  check.

Now we just have to pack and be on our way!  We appreciate all your thoughts and prayers, and continued support.  We will be sure to keep everyone updated!

my three sons

** I have no clue why I can't rotate this picture, so forgive me for the angle.

We had our ultrasound yesterday and decided to try something new and find out what we're having... It was really fun.  We asked the tech to write it down rather than tell us.  After the appointment we swung into Starbucks for some warm drinks (it was a dreary day) and walked 3 blocks to St. James Cathedral, where we were married.  We sat on the steps, said a prayer, and I opened the envelope... The little blue feet that bordered the paper gave it away before I could read what it said. I laughed and shook my head.  Nick said, "Is it a girl?"  "Nope," I replied.  He tried to hide his elation while checking how I felt about welcoming another boy into the fold, but no worries...I am totally excited. THREE boys... ah, I love it.

While we were walking to the church, Nick asked Lute, "Do you want it to be a boy or a girl?"
His reply: "I want hot chocolate!"

The kid knows his priorities.

unbelievable and amazing

We got a call from Debbie last Friday, May 29.  Nick was home, which is rare on a Friday afternoon, I was getting ready for a trip to San Diego to watch my sister run in a marathon.

Nick answered his phone and put it on speaker so we could both hear what she had to say. "Nick, I have some great news!  We have a match for you..."

We were shocked, excited, filled with joy, tearful... all of these emotions we hadn't prepared for. I had sort of figured we wouldn't get picked because of the pregnancy, but God had other plans, as is usually the case.

Our baby BOY is due June 29.  And man, we have a lot to do!  Today I went through all of Lute's little clothes, got the special baby detergent, a couple of bottles and pacifiers. It's funny... I've done this before, and yet I have no idea what I need or where to begin. Time to make a to do list...
